Candi Golden – A Grateful Family that Helps Other Families
Integrity Idol semi-finalist Candi Golden of Eldercare Insurance Services has chosen to split her winnings with The Sharing Jed Foundation, an organization started by her childhood best friend and second cousin, Lori Haggard Harper.
In 2010, Lori’s three-year old son Jed was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive muscle cancer. Jed endured two surgeries, 24 chemo treatments and several hospital stays during this childhood cancer battle. Today, at age 13, he is scanning “NED,” which means No Evidence of Disease!
From that humbling experience, Lori and her family learned how difficult childhood medical problems can be. They’re forever grateful to the families and businesses that stepped in to help relieve some of their biggest financial burdens. The family created The Sharing Jed Foundation to assist other families facing similar challenges — and to help win the battle against childhood cancer.
Here is a photo of Jed from the time he was diagnosed with cancer.
The photo at the top of this post is a picture of Jed now. We’re very grateful to Candi for supporting a cause that is truly personal to her and her family. And we couldn’t be prouder to donate $500 in her name to The Sharing Jed Foundation.
