1978 Regional Vacuum Salesman of the Month

Date: February 25, 2021

Recently on the “Inspire” Podcast, we announced our partnership with J. Berg & Associates. We spoke with President Bob Berg and got a glimpse of the entrepreneurial spirit he’s had from a young age.

Bob was raised alongside his four brothers by parents who encouraged them to pursue their passions and learn from their mistakes. For Bob, one of those passions happened to be sales, which he discovered right before college. In fact, he was so good at selling vacuums in his area, he was named the “Kirby Salesman of the Month” in Chesterfield, Missouri, in 1978. He even has a photo of the official plaque as proof.

Bob laughs at the memory now, but at the time it was enough to make him want to forgo college and open up his own vacuum shop! Fortunately, his father stepped in and encouraged him to go to college to “have some fun and see what happens.”

After college, Bob found his stride selling insurance, and the rest is history. We are so glad to have a go-getter like Bob Berg join our Integrity family. The vacuum industry’s loss is our gain!
